ʔaq̓amnik̓ Residential Home Construction Project

ʔaq̓am Council is pleased to share an update on the ʔaq̓amnik̓ Residential Home Construction project. Following a competitive Request for Proposals (RFP) process, 11 proposals were received from qualified contractors across the region.

After a careful evaluation of each submission, Cardinal Business Solutions has been selected as the successful proponent. Cardinal was chosen not only for their strong construction and project management experience but also for their deep alignment with ʔaq̓am community values.

Cardinal is an ʔaq̓amnik̓-owned business that brings a culturally responsive, client-centered approach and is committed to supporting Ktunaxa businesses and labour. Their building model emphasizes safety, energy efficiency, and long-term resilience—key priorities for our community and future generations.

ʔaq̓am would like to thank all the companies who submitted proposals and recognize the strong interest in supporting our housing reconstruction efforts.

Construction is anticipated to begin in the coming weeks. Further updates will be shared with community members as the project progresses.  We kindly remind community members that these locations are active construction sites. For everyone’s safety, we ask that you obtain prior approval before entering the area. Thank you for your understanding and support as we work to build safe and lasting homes for our community.
