Notice: ʔaq̓am Lands Wetland Tour

The ʔaq̓am Lands department will be doing a quick tour on Wednesday, March 06 to 5 wetlands starting at 1:30pm with some contractors interested in bidding on vegetation inventories this spring. There will be roughly 15 participants and should take approximately 2 hours.

ʔaq̓am First Nation leadership is disappointed with the Province of British Columbia’s decision to suspend proposed amendments to B.C.’s Land Act. The proposed amendments aimed to bring aspects of the Land Act in line with the Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (DRIPA), passed by B.C. in 2019.

BC Hydro will be onsite starting January 22nd to do some vegetation removal around their poles. This work was schedules to happen in December but was postponed.
