ACE Enters into New Construction/Contracting Business Partnership

The ʔaq'am Community Enterprises ("ACE") Board is pleased to announce an exciting new partnership for the Community's Development Corporation.  ACE has partnered with MDG Contracting Services Ltd. and Kinbasket Development Corporation to form a company named "FNMDG Construction Services" that has the immediate capacity to undertake projects of all sizes in general contracting and construction management within the St. Mary's Band area and Elk Valley.  This business partnership is the first of its scale and kind within the region and aims to bring significant social and economic benefits to not only ʔaq'amnik but to all First Nations people looking to access the training and work opportunities that FNMDG will provide.

The business partners have been meeting for many months on corporate strategy and a First Nations impact plan.  The economic objectives of all partners aligned to the point that it became clear that the most effective vehicle to achieve their objectives would be through a legitimate business partnership that the most effective vehicle to achieve their objectives would be through a legitimate business partnership that focuses on delivering exceptional service to its clients.

MDG traditionally focused on general contracting opportunities in both the Windermere and Elk Valley.  Having been awarded the Procurement, Construction Management and General Contracting contract last September for the Teck Coal Line Creek Phase II Dry Creek Water Management project, this positions MDG to provide First Nation contractors further opportunity for growth and expansion in the business without compromising safety, budget, and overall project execution.

FNMDG is ready to do business and can manage all aspects of any project from concept to completion.  To learn more about the services that the company can deliver on, visit www.mdgcontracting.ca.
